Sullivan Field is undergoing a major renovation. A new 7 lane, green and
gold, Mondo track surface is being installed as well as complete state
of the art lighting. In addition, a beautiful brick sidewalk will be
installed from the ticket booth to the home bleachers. You can have a

Hello!
I want to start by saying thanks to those in charge of this website
and the reunion. What a great thing you've done! I've especially
enjoyed reading the bios and while many of them make my life look bland
I will say I've had a very good 20 years.
Like many others, I went to Las Cruces for college. My goal was to
teach high school math so I earned a BS in Mathematics and a MA in
Curriculum and Instruction. I'm a pretty low-key guy and, for the most
part, didn't find it hard to stay out of trouble, but I will mention
that Nelson and I did involve ourselves in a very intense sting
operation involving a gay prank-phone-caller!
One of the great things about earning a Math degree (okay, maybe the
only great thing) is that it's really easy to find a great wife. Here's
how it works, in 3 simple steps:
Sign up for a math class.
The class will have about 25 or so students - locate the three girls.
Pick the one that shaves and bathes.
This is how I met my excellent wife Renee and we've been happily
married since 1992!
After graduation, I worked at Onate High in Las Cruces for 7 years.
I didn't always teach math though. Following an intense internship at
Sandia Lab, I wound up teaching website development from 96-99 and
became webmaster for the school and district. It was a lot of fun
because it integrated art with technology and, at a time when the
internet was relatively young, brought a lot of prestige to the school.
In 1999 we moved to Albuquerque to be near Renee's family. I worked
2 years at St Mike's in Santa Fe and for a couple of more at home
(contract programming). Currently, I'm teaching
Computer Repair at Rio Rancho High School
and I've even helped a few students become certified
technicians. Additionally, I work part time at Sylvan Learning Center,
math tutoring, and occasional side work building websites.
I haven't jumped out of planes (though I'm usually happy to get off
once on the ground), and I've scarcely left the state. I do think we
have one great accomplishment to brag about though. When we decided to
have kids we thought that one of us should stay at home and be a parent.
Since this is such an important job, we elected the smarter one and so
I continued working and Renee gave up her job (also a teacher). I have
to say this has not been easy on a teacher's paycheck but we've pulled
it off for 10 years now and the benefits have been beyond my words.
We have two boys: Andrew (10) and Benjamin (5). Andrew is talented
with art, math, drums and karate. Ben's gift is aggravating Andrew!
We also have a Border Collie named Taho, which is an acronym for
"Tongue Always Hangs Out".
I missed the 10th reunion and my folks moved away from White Rock in
1990 so I'm pretty much out of touch. The only one from the old days
that I've kept up with regularly is Nelson, so I'm pretty desperate! I
look forward to the visit this summer!
