Sullivan Field is undergoing a major renovation. A new 7 lane, green and
gold, Mondo track surface is being installed as well as complete state
of the art lighting. In addition, a beautiful brick sidewalk will be
installed from the ticket booth to the home bleachers. You can have a
personalized brick added to this walkway.

Mike Gurley
Well I most certainly have enjoyed reading Bio's of all who have
submitted them, so I guess I will come out of the trees and write up
something about myself. Starting with the most recent...
Her name is Jessica Gurley, and she has been my soul mate for over
five years. We were married on July 9 of 2005. We continue to plan our
life together dealing with whatever comes our way, and plan to have
children as soon as she has finished her studies. I am glad I waited
until I was 36 to get married for the first time however I am a bit
envious of all of you who have children. I can't wait!!!!
I moved back to Los Alamos in 1998 and started my career at the Lab
as a Maintenance Coordinator at the Wellness Center. I was approached by
a man who offered me a job as a computer tech, my education was paid
for, and I have not stopped working with computers since. My current job
as the lead developer for the Information Systems Analysis and
Development team challenges me daily and often leads to a headache. I'm
going to stop there because my work life stops at 5:00pm, and my real
life starts at 5:01.
The fire in Los Alamos kind of changed my life around a bit. I did
loose my house in the fire but wasn't too attached seeing as I only
lived in it for 2 weeks. It was kind of a joke around this place for a
while with building restrictions so I settled in the Jemez mountains'
where the trees haven't burned...yet. I love the quiet times, and the cool
mornings, especially when the elk are in rut.
From High School until 1998, I pretty much just worked for a living.
I was the foreman of a construction company for five years, moved on to
plumbing and heating for two years and throughout all the years I still
worked at ice arenas. I lived in Pueblo Colorado for four years and
really hated to leave. I worked for the City of Pueblo as the assistant
manager of the ice arena, and learned that no kid should ever be a part
of the figure skating world! We did however have a lot of fun with the
Olympic Training Center, and the USA Hockey organizations. I liked the
fact that I got to watch Olympians practice everyday then watch their
performance on TV at the Olympics. I got to see the dedication side of
things and the bitter side of the sport as well. After fourteen years of
driving a Zamboni, I finally hung up the keys when I moved back to LA.
My activities these days are all about hunting big game, snowmobiling
with great friends, and enjoying my time spent with family. My wife
bought a sign that hangs in our home that reads; "We interrupt this
marriage for hunting season", and it's not far from the truth. (Gerry
Lindstrom, you know this life) From September to March, I am either in
the field, or in my processing room taking care of the harvest. I would
post pictures of myself and people I guide in the field, but most folks
don't care for pictures of harvested game.
Jess and I have two dogs that keep us busy at home, and in the
mountains. Zapa, our black lab in my first dog I've had from a puppy.
She is now 11 years of age, and keeps trucking along. Lizzy is our black
and tan coonhound that we adopted from Arkansas. She lost her home and
family, and I drove 1500 miles for this meathead! This dog lacks in
brain, but made up for it in beauty.
I must say I was planning on going to our 20th reunion but my new
father in law is getting himself married right in the middle of my
reunion! I looked forward to seeing all of you, and who knows, maybe I
will get that chance. Wishes of a good life to each and every one of
you! Cheers.
