Mick Matuszak
Class of '87,
Hello Everyone!
I graduated from NMSU, fall '91. Moved to Tennessee and worked at a
small university (Lambuth) as an Athletic Trainer/Instructor.
Lived in Jackson TN for 8 years.
Received my Master's from the University of Memphis, May 1997.
I married my wife, Karen (Lee) June 19th, 1993.
At the 10 year reunion she was 8 months pregnant with our first child.
Trevor (9) was born August 10th, 1997. Our second son (Griffin-7)was
born July 30th, 1999.
Summer of 2000 the Athletic Trainer/teacher position became available at
LAHS. Karen and I always wanted to be back in the southwest so I
applied. We moved back that summer. Housing was more affortable in Santa
Fe at the time so we lived their for 4.5 years.
Our last child (Anna
Rose-5) was born in Los Alamos on June 30th, 2001.
We wanted our kids in better schools so we bought a house in White Rock
over the summer of 2005.
I have completed my 7th year at the high school already! Time flies.
Karen and I have our 14th wedding anniversary on the 19th. WOW!
Life has been good to me. My family and I are healthy and happy. The
boys play hockey and baseball. I coach both of them. Anna Rose is into
ballet. My wife works at a doctor's office as an office manager.
I have summer's off with the kids. We hang out with the Ireland's, the
Gurleys, Hopkins, and the Wangens.
I went to the World Series with my dad last year. Tigers lost hard but
it was amazing.
That's about it.
Looking forward to seeing some old faces. I am the designated driver for
the duration of the events!
