Damn you all have been married for ever... 10 yrs and 15 yrs. Well if
Dave and I would have stuck it out...yikes! Sorry Dave. We would have
been married 19 1/2 years. So here is the scoop. As you all know prom
night was very eventful for Dave and I. And So on January 26, 1988 Josh
was born (he probably saved my life). My 'good old' Mormon Dad decided
right then and there that I was getting married (my Dad planned the
whole wedding)...poor Dave. So on March 22, 1988, Dave and I got married.
We were attending NMSU in Las Cruces.
Around the fall of 1990 (Josh was about 2 ) I decided it was now or
never, Dave and I or not, I better have Josh a brother. So in July of
1991, Caleb was born. Finally in the summer of 1992, I finished up my
Bachelors of Accountancy...I know accounting? It was a good "base"
bachelors degree every business needs someone who knows how to handle
the money.
So Dave and I decided... okay, so we don't match...at all, and part
sorta peacefully. I have a GRA position at the laboratory being an
"auditor"..not..really it was counting property...yuck! So I am living
with my Dad, working at the lab, and being a single mom. And for those
of you who have been blessed enough, which sounds like most of you, to
remain married. Divorce is a crazy instigator. It's a great diet, you
slim way down, yet party way too much. You know cover/drown all your
sorrows, and at 22 with two kids, I had kinda missed all the fun you
guys had in college. So I was off... and who better to party with then
the LA crew. Dad as a babysitter perfect! Not really...The next part of my
life I will summarize with......Chapter 2 says it all.
My Life in Five Short Chapters
CHAPTER 1
I walk down the street.
There's a deep hole in the sidewalk.
And I fall in.
I am lost. I am helpless. It isn't my fault (okay maybe at little).
It takes forever to find a way out.
1988-1992
CHAPTER 2
I walk down the same street. (Except I have a great job after I quit the lab)
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it. I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in this place at all (who? What?).
But it isn't my fault. (okay its totally my fault)
It takes a really, really long time to get out...
1992-1999
So hopefully I have skipped chapter 3 and chapter 4... And now I am
just walking down a different street. I commend all of you for
seemingly skipping 1 and 2 as well.
Chapter 5....I married Phil Pellette, LAHS graduate from 1977...he is a
really old ( a lot older than us) but he likes me, we like the same
things, he has a job, and doesn't party..at least not much, whew! He
and I live in Livermore, CA where we work at LLNL. I am a budget
analyst working for the programs and he is a Nuclear Engineer working at
the Super Block (Plutonium Facility). We have 5 kids between us,
ranging from Pat 24 down to my Caleb 15 1/2. They keep me really busy the
logistics of managing teenagers. It can be crazy. Joshua graduated from
HS last year..(almost from LAHS) just one year in Livermore at LHS (they
are green and gold also). He now attends MSU in Bozeman, MT. Caleb is
a flirty, free spirited, bundle of crazy energy. I am just trying to
ensure he doesn't carry on the family tradition. Who knows if we'll
make it to the reunion. But it is great fun to hear about all of you.
Everyone seems to be living life so constructively, rather gracefully
and without major mishap, bravo. I'm catchin' on.
