Sullivan Field is undergoing a major renovation. A new 7 lane, green and
gold, Mondo track surface is being installed as well as complete state
of the art lighting. In addition, a beautiful brick sidewalk will be
installed from the ticket booth to the home bleachers. You can have a

Kimberly Martinez (Medina)
As many of you may remember by graduation I had already added a name to my
own and in July a baby girl, Nicole Leanne. We stayed in White Rock for a
little over a year and then moved to Colorado, where I have been ever since,
although in 3 different counties and 5 different homes, eventually settling
in the beautiful San Luis Valley.
I was fortunate enough to stay home with Nicole and in May of 1991 we
welcomed Sidney James to our home. My baby boy is now a teenager who I look
up to (literally) he's about 3" taller than me and I either have to be
standing on a chair or threatening to kick him in the knees if he's in
trouble.
I wore many different hats from 1991 till 2001. Sometimes I was a stay at
home mom, a separated mother of two, an administrative secretary for a
gasoline and oil distributor, a receptionist for a medical professional
corporation, a secretary for a small church, a teacher's assistant in a
Lutheran Preschool and then I waited tables and learned how to make a killer
cappuccino in a cute little coffee shop.
In 1998 Al and I separated for the third and final time and I lost my dad to
a massive heart attack. It was pretty hard losing the men in my life and
trying to figure out where I was supposed to go next. Then in 2000 after
being separated for almost 2 years Al and I divorced although he stayed
close and continued to be the best dad he could.
In February 2001 I was hired as a receptionist in the 12th Judicial District
Attorney's Office. Talk about an eye opener. The news media does not even
begin to tell you what's happening. I worked the front desk at the DA's
Office until May 2004 when I changed hats again and became a Victim Advocate
responsible for working with victims of crime in Misdemeanor and Felony
cases.
2001 not only introduced me to the crime and punishment scene, it also sent
me on the true path of single parenthood as my children lost their dad.
Thank God for the support of family, friends and Bob, my best friend and
pillar of strength the kids and I survived.
Things kind of went day to day for the next few years until November 7, 2005
-four weeks early but perfect in every way, Nicole gave birth to my
granddaughter, Emma Lee or E-ma as I call her.
In February 2006 my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer had surgery and
fought the good fight till February 22, 2007. Yes, this is my plug for
cancer screenings and to cherish the people in your lives because you never
know when they may be taken away.
Although there have been many, many bumps in the road, I have been truly
blessed to have continued contact with Dawn Archuleta (Harper), Thomas
Gehrmann and Stephen Naivar. And now I have dreams of many renewed
friendships.Carol, we still have lots to catch up on.
As life has it, my plans to join you all at the reunion have been changed,
hope you have a great time.can't wait to see what the next ten years brings.
Rick and Susan what a great site, thank you. Hope you have the time to keep
it up after the reunion with great pictures and stories for those of us who
could not be there.
