Joan Perry (Weeks)
20 years - WOW, what a great time it's been!
In 1991, I completed a Bachelor's of Business Adminstration in
Business Computer Systems at UNM. While at UNM I began contracting at
Sandia National Laboratories - thanks to Lilly Anaya (Hinsley). I really
appreciated her help in getting started contracting there. I worked
there while I got my Masters in Training and Learning Technologies.
After that, I had an opportunity to start my own consulting business in
San Francisco. I worked with a lot of great companies there and had a
great time. I left there to work in Denver and then Phoenix for a while.
It was great getting to hang out with Jodie Fuller in Denver and Heather
Villanueva (Bogenholm) in Phoenix.
I moved to Atlanta, GA in 1998. It's a fun city to live in and has
enough companies and activities to keep me busy. I'm an independent
consultant. My company is Technically Write (www.technicallywrite.net).
I have a training development company. I write training materials and
technical manuals for all types of things from computer systems to
leadership training.
In 2004, I married Stephen Perry. He's an accountant. We met at
church. He's a really great guy and we have a fun time together. We
spend a lot of time rollerblading and biking. We are expecting our first
child in November.
My sister, Beth, lives about 20 minutes from me. Which is great, we
get to see each other a lot. She has four children. She and her husband
also have their own training development company.
