Sullivan Field is undergoing a major renovation. A new 7 lane, green and
gold, Mondo track surface is being installed as well as complete state
of the art lighting. In addition, a beautiful brick sidewalk will be

Carol Forehand (Johnson)
I married in December of 1987 (yes, WAY too early) and my husband was
in the Air Force. Shortly after we got married, we found out that he was
to be stationed overseas at Rhein Main Air Base in Germany. In February
of 1988, he headed overseas while I finished up my stint at the
Laboratory and got ready to move. In all of the excitement, we also
found out that I was pregnant. So 19 and pregnant, I got on a plane and
headed to West Germany. My daughter, Michaela, was born there and we
spent the next two and a half years exploring the local economy, as well
as several other countries.
In 1990, I was contacted by the group at the Lab that I worked for
through my senior year of high school and was offered and accepted a
full-time permanent position there. About a week and a half later, my
daughter and I (and little known to me, my son) were headed back to good
'ole Los Alamos and my divorce was in the works shortly thereafter.
My son, Paul, was born in Los Alamos in 1991. I worked and lived in
Los Alamos until 1996 when we decided it was time for a change and moved
to Seattle, Washington where I met my husband, Robert. We married in
1998 and our lives since then have revolved around soccer, cheerleading,
football, basketball, swimming, or whatever other sports our kids might
happen to be involved in at the moment. Michaela is 18 and is living in
Portland, OR; Paul is almost 16 and driving (be afraid, be very
afraid!!); and my step-daughter, Makenzie, is 14 and involved with just
about any sport out there. We have been active in some of the local
greyhound rescue organizations and, at one point, had three of these
amazing dogs (I'm a sucker for those sappy eyes). We are now down to
just one greyhound, a bagel (bagel = fat beagle), and the two cats.
I earned my BFA in Visual Communication and am currently working as a
Graphic Designer and Technical Editor (weird combination, eh?) with an
environmental engineering firm outside of Seattle.
In going overseas right out of high school, I lost track of just
about everyone, so I am really looking forward to the reunion!
