Los Alamos Monitor Dec 16, 2007

Sebastiana Amy J. Sloan (Swannack)

SLOAN - Sebastiana Amy J. Sloan passed from this life on Nov. 30, 2007, in Lynnwood, Wash. She was born May 14, 1969, in Natrona Heights, Pa. Known as Amy to her family and close friends, and sometimes AJ, she attended grade school and high school in Los Alamos, and college in Las Cruces, Los Alamos, Albuquerque and Seattle.

Amy struggled with a chronic and worsening illness, and believed she would be made whole and happy in Heaven with our Lord. She was kind, gentle, bright, caring, creative, loving, generous, thoughtful and walked in beauty. Amy is greatly missed by those who loved her. She was a gifted musician and artist and her work was currently being shown in two galleries. Her creations were being worn by the internationally known rock group, the Goo Goo Dolls, who validated and inspired her.

Amy was preceded in death by her father, Clarke Elliott Swannack, her paternal grandfather Jervis Swannack, maternal grandparents Hilda and Ira Kurth, uncle Stuart Kurth, close friend Robert Scadel and several beloved dogs.

Amy is survived by her mother, Kathleen Kurth Fraser, stepfather Douglas Fraser, stepsister Laura Fraser, special "Auntie" Joanie Malone, "Auntie" Esther Sundelin and husband "Uncle" Ron, very loyal friend Ken Van Lyssel, dog Buffy and several cousins. Amy is also survived by her paternal grandmother, June Swannack, Aunt Susan Swannack Nunn and husband Jack and their son Jack Elliott, Uncle Jervis Swannack and his sons Erik and Jervis, Aunt Lee Gillis, and Cousin Ellen Gunderson and husband Ken.

Memorial services will be held in Santa Fe at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Holy Faith Episcopal Church on Palace Avenue. A reception will follow at the church. ÊAmy loved animals, and anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory could choose an animal shelter or organization.
